On the Homefront

We’ve been undergoing a massive renovation on our house, involving a new dining room addition, redoing the kitchen, adding central air to the main level, and subdividing some other existing spaces. My studio is currently a pile of unidentifiable boxes in the middle of the basement floor. Our kitchen contents are boxed and piled in the garage while the room itself looks like it was bombed out. The dining room and mudroom are just plywood and studs. Our beloved general contractor disappeared for emergency back surgery last week, which was the same week I learned that our cabinet ‘dealer’ wasn’t actually authorized to sell us the product that we purchased from him and he’s been ignoring my email attempts to secure a refund of our deposit. It’s June in NJ and the house is starting to get stuffy and warm, even though the weather has been pretty cool so far, and my daughter and I moved back in with my parents. My husband stays with us for weekends and at our house during the workweek. So, yeah. I realllllly miss my creative outlet these days…
